Here, it's all about the breath and the voice.

HI, I'M EMILY.SINGER, PERFORMER, AND YOUR CREATIVE VOICE & EMBODIMENT MENTOR.

After a twenty year career in the music industry as a professional touring performer and a naturally anxious person, I suffered burnout and decided to step back from my job in order to find myself again.

As I'm finding my way back to my own voice,

I am realising that I have gained a unique insight into both the power and the vulnerability of the human voice. How everything is connected, how the body itself is an instrument, and how, if the voice is restricted, our entire being is affected.

A band of seven musicians stand together to take a bow onstage, standing next to each other in a line, with brightly coloured stage lights behind them.

This is where I can help.

I'd like to inspire, and help to bring people back to themselves when they feel disconnected from their own voice, are finding it in the first place, or are feeling stuck and disenchanted.

Moving from black and white to colour.

Imagine showing up for yourself in the most profound, present and embodied way -  whilst quietly and confidently transforming your life from within. Sound good?

Great to meet you, my love.

I'M A SOULFUL SINGER, PIANIST,
SOUND HEALER & ASPIRING WRITER -
ALSO A (NON-PRETZEL) YOGI

How did I get here?

Well, it's been a journey, and one that is certainly not over.

I am a creative soul and have always loved expressive arts, especially music. I am a classically trained singer and pianist, and started in chamber choirs, quickly finding that singing with others lit me up inside. If music is my bread and butter, then harmony is my jam; singing became my everything. My passion, my therapy, my whole being. I started a 30-strong gospel choir at school, then went on to study at LIPA (Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts) in Vocal Performance.

After graduation I was offered a job as a live backing vocalist for the Australian Pink Floyd Show. One gig in Liverpool turned into a tour, and then took me worldwide for 8 years. I then joined Brit Floyd, performing in some wonderful venues including London's Royal Albert Hall, Wembley Arena, the Beacon Theatre in New York, Red Rocks in Colorado, the Isle of Wight Festival, Glastonbury Festival, and many others, and was part of The Classic Rock Show as one of the vocalists and keys players for many years, before taking a lead role as Carole King on lead vocals and keys in a touring show in 2016. Then came the part of Christine McVie in Rumours of Fleetwood Mac.

I have been honoured to perform for thousands of people over the years, and the stage will always form part of who I am. I earned my spurs on stage, dealing with intense stage fright, anxiety, emotional imbalance and stress. I fought to overcome some difficult times and through it all, I kept performing, until I realised I was having to work too hard to give people what they deserved. Burnout is real and incredibly challenging; if this is something you're dealing with or have experience in, I see you! I had to step back, and shift my whole life.

From here onwards, my work encompasses it all. Creativity, expression, embodiment, capacity, balance, breath, voice, movement. Cultivating and nurturing that quiet power, that gentle confidence, that creative spark. And you don't need to be a singer to benefit; this is for anyone who uses their voice, or would like to. Public speakers, leaders, poets, teachers. Finding ways to unlock and enhance your unique voice.

With me, you get something different.

A fusion of vocal performance expertise, embodied movement and soulful mentorship that is rooted in real, lived experience

EXPLAIN

THE STORY SO FAR

There was a time when I was constantly on the move. Twenty years on the road, singing to packed out rooms, giving everything I had to the music and the moment. It was my dream, an incredible ride, but after years of touring my entire self was struggling. Burnout took me by surprise, anxiety was taking over, and my once steadfast voice was disappearing. It felt like a part of me was literally fading away.

Knowing something had to give, I made the difficult decision to step back from the only career I knew. I didn't know who I was without the stage; a place that had held me and given me so much freedom and joy. It was who I was - or so I thought. As it turned out, once I had decided to step back, I realised that it was just a part of a whole. I had to learn how to rest, how to BE, and this was a brand new chapter.

I started listening again, not only to my body but to the parts of me that wanted something else. A different kind of stage, one where I could show up as I truly was, one where balance, creativity and self-expression could co-exist and integrate. I finally trained in yoga, something I'd wanted to do for a long time, and started running sessions and events centred around gentle yoga and relaxation. I then trained in conscious connected breathwork, and now here we are, three years after leaving the stage; this crazy, wonderful journey has led me here, to VYBE Voice and Yoga.

I want to help you find your true voice - not the one the world expects, but the one that feels like home. Whether you're navigating burnout, looking for a more balanced nervous system, longing for creative release and freedom, exploring performance, or merely craving space to breathe again - I'm here. For all of it. Because I've lived it, I am still living it, and I know what's waiting on the other side.

Come and be alive with me!  The journey is just beginning.

I can't wait to meet you.

I haven't made this space purely for sound or movement. It's for every part of you.

FOR THE PART OF YOU THAT IS...

creative and sensitive

tired of overthinking and overachieving

tired of feeling disconnected, from yourself and from others

tired of giving too much of yourself

tired of doing what everyone else thinks you should be doing

wishing have space to flourish and grow

wishing to step forward without judgement

onging to feel connected and find the power in your voice

AND EVERY PART INBETWEEN

Behind words are images, feelings and shifting states of being...the clearer you are in the emotional content of what you are singing, the freer your breath will be.

Breath support is about release and freedom...it all begins with a sigh, and trains the brain to be relieved when it speaks what it feels.

A Few Fun Facts For You

I WAS PART OF THE FURNITURE ON A TOURBUS.

I performed on tours for twenty years, mostly living on tourbuses - and I don't believe you can call yourself a true road dweller until you can make and drink a cup of tea whilst standing up sideways on a tourbus that's doing 80 mph. SKILLS.

I WAS BORN IN NEW ZEALAND.

My parents moved to beautiful NZ in late 1970s, and I was born in a town called Lower Hutt, just outside Wellington. We moved back to the UK when I was three.

THE LOVELY SIR PAUL MCCARTNEY TOLD ME I HAD 'A GREAT VOICE'

A career highlight for an 80s baby! I stepped in for a friend on a Jason Donovan gig and got to sing all of his hits from my childhood. I was so starstruck! He was very kind, and it was a very lively weekend gig at Butlins!
